Weissport’s Crisp Air Festival benefits the community’s events

The 2nd Annual Crisp Air Festival was held over the weekend in the Weissport Borough Park.

“We have excellent weather, and it looks like more people this year than last year,” said Jennifer Ketchledge, member of the Weissport event committee. “We have had people already looking forward to next year.”

The festival featured a variety of vendors and entertainment for children and adults.

Children had a chance to enjoy the bounce house and the inflatable slide. Jagger and Liv Monet Rambo, children of Julie Rambo of Palmerton, were among a group of children enjoying the slide.

Other children, like Marley Bennett of Slatington, enjoyed the bounce house.

“That was fun!” Bennett declared.

There were games and face painting as well.

For those who were hungry, a variety of food vendors and food trucks provided all kinds of nourishment. Some of the food vendors included Dulceria La Conga from Franklin Township with a wide selection of homemade baked goods; Diajana and Mario Obranovic, owners of Sweet Dream Bakery of Lehighton had their baked goods, plus they made crepes to order as the people watched; Sweet Wildflowers Lemonade; Lehigh Treats Freeze-Dried Candy; and many others.

Live entertainment included Whiskey Crossing, 400 dead Whiskey Stamps, Tom Acker, Abandoned Mind, and Damien Walk. A magician, The Amazing Carson, from Tamaqua also entertained the festival with his magic show.

All the proceeds of the festival go to the Weissport event committee for the community. The committee puts on Easter, Halloween and Christmas parades throughout the town for the local children, plus several other projects.
