Fire companies from several Carbon County communities were on scene Saturday of a working apartment building fire in Lehighton. The fire was reported around 4:45 p.m. in an apartment building in the 100 block of North First street.

When the firefighters arrived on scene they confirmed smoke showing from the three-story wood frame structure from a third floor window.

Lehighton fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.
