A garbage truck that was retrieving a trash can struck a hanging cable wire with its articulating arm, pulling it from its pole, state police at the Stroudsburg barracks said.

The incident occurred at 5:22 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 900 block of Haney Road in Hamilton Township.

When police arrived, the cable was draped over the truck. A trooper was able to move the cable back to its original position, and the truck avoided discernible damage, police said.
