State police at Hazleton

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 33-year-old Weatherly man is facing burglary charges after a break-in at The Broken Glass Tavern, 41 Main St., Junedale, at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 23.

Police said he arrived at the location in a pickup truck and proceeded to pry open the rear door of the building. Once inside, police said, he broke into a slot machine and took $176.

Police said he was located and admitted to the crime.

In addition to taking the money from the machine, damage to the door and machine were estimated at $200 and $100, respectively.

Police said victims of the incident are a 51-year-old man from Weatherly and a 44-year-old woman from McAdoo.

• A 66-year-old man from New Port Richey, Florida, is facing charges after an incident at 4:28 p.m. Sept. 27 at a property near Main and Goat streets in Junedale, Banks Township.

Police said he pried open a locked front door of a residence of a 51-year-old Junedale woman and gained entry to the residence. They said he fled before police arrived.

• Osvaldo Jiminez, 25, of Beaver Meadows, was cited for defiant criminal trespass after police were called to the property on the Atlantic Carbon Group, Jeansville Road, Hazle Township, at 7:14 p.m. Sept. 25.

Police said he drove a Honda Civic into the parking lot of the company and made obscene gestures to employees, proceeding to drive around the property for several minutes before fleeing the scene.

• Police were called to 87 Church St., Banks Township, at 1:54 p.m. Sept. 23 after drugs were found.

They said three items of suspected drugs/paraphernalia were gathered and entered into evidence.

• A 43-year-old Beaver Meadows man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:41 a.m. Sept. 21.

He was stopped in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado for Motor Vehicle Code violations on North Wyoming Street in Hazleton, after which he was taken into custody and transported to the police barracks for processing.
