Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu for Oct. 6-10.

Monday: Lemon Fish, Scalloped Potatoes, Carrots, Pears or Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Tuesday: Pork, Sweet Potatoes, Wax Beans, Fruit Salad or Chicken Caesar salad

Wednesday: BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich, Corn, Cole Slaw, Melon or Tuna Sandwich

Thursday: Hawaiian Chicken, Brown Rice, Vegetable Blend, Pound Cake or Beef and Cheese Sandwich

Friday: Squash Soup, Cheeseburger, Potato Wedges, Orange or Chicken Ranch Salad

The center has also announced the following upcoming events:

Games on Oct. 6 at 11 a.m.; Heritage Hill and Fox Rehab Presentation on “Body Mechanics and Proper Lifting Techniques” on Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m.; Family Feud on Oct. 8 at 11 a.m.; Sunshine Meeting on Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. followed by Po- Keeno at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Oct. 10 at 10:45 a.m.

Cards, Pool, Games, available daily from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Panther Valley library

The Panther Valley Public Library continues “Preschool Story Hour.”

The event is open to children ages 3-5 and is held from 10-11 a.m. at the library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford.

It includes a story, craft and light snack.

To register your child, call 570-645-3780.

The library is also part of Carbon County Area Agency on Aging’s PA MEDI program to help those with annual Medicare open enrollment, which begins Oct. 15.

Sessions at the library are: 9 a.m.-noon. Oct. 15, 17, 22, 24 and 29; Nov. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and 28; and Dec. 3 and 5.
