Carbon County’s sheriff was recently appointed to the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association Executive Board.
During the 102nd annual PSA conference in Pittsburgh, Sheriff Daniel G. Zeigler was elected to serve on the seven-member board.
The board is the voice that represents all 67 county sheriffs.
Zeigler is the only sheriff from Carbon County ever to be elected to serve on the board.
“This is a humbling experience,” he said in a press release, adding that he is “honored to serve with his fellow sheriffs across the commonwealth to face the challenges that all sheriffs experience.”
His primary focus remains representing and serving the residents of Carbon County to make the communities safer.
In addition to the board, Zeigler also was named to the Joint State Government Commission’s advisory commission earlier this year.
That commission has been pegged to research and write a study on the recruitment and retention of law enforcement officers in Pennsylvania.
