Nesquehoning Borough Council

Nesquehoning Borough Council acted on the following items during its monthly meeting recently.

• Accepted a letter from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection pertaining to Panther Creek’s application for post mining land. The application requests to change post mining land use from unmanaged natural habitat to industrial.

• Ratified the burn ban, which went into effect on Sept. 15, for 30 days.

• Mayor Tom Kattner announced that this year’s trick or treat for Halloween will be from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 30.

• Approved Frontline Graphix doing the detail on a super duty dump truck with reflective graphics at a cost of $1,450.

• Approved the purchase of a hydraulic trailer for the sewer department from Kutz Farm Equipment at a cost of $8,655.

• Authorized the sale of a triple axle trailer.

• Approved hiring Kathy Burns as a crossing guard.
