Anthracite relay

Scores of people took part in the annual Anthracite Region Walk & Luminaria Service for ACS, held by the American Cancer Society Telethon Committee on Saturday at the Tamaqua High School Stadium. Walking around the track are, from left, Lee Ann Phillips, Cheryl Serfass, Sharon Garber and Jazell Garber. The walk is held in conjunction with the service during which attendees can honor people who had cancer by purchasing and lighting luminaries. Sue Urban, back, and Madison Schaeffer fill luminary bags for annual luminary service and relay walk of the Carbon-Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society at Tamaqua High School stadium on Saturday. The service honors cancer victims and is hosted by the American Cancer Society Telethon Committee. Scores of individuals attended the event, which was highlighted by the luminary service with luminaries placed along the track.
