Youth charged with robbing Lansford Boyer’s

A juvenile has been charged with robbing Boyer’s in Lansford at gunpoint.

Lansford Mayor Rev Dr Hugh Vrablic said at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday, a juvenile male had entered the Boyer’s Market.

He told the cashier that he was robbing the store. He had a 9 mm pistol and requested the money from the cash register. The cashier provided the money, and he departed the store. Shortly after he was apprehended without any struggle by Lansford Police Department, officer in charge Shawn Nunemacher near the Lansford/Coaldale line.

Nobody in the store was harmed, but Boyer’s was closed temporarily.

Summit Hill and Tamaqua police departments arrived and assisted.
