Kidder honors fire chief for 60 years
Kidder Township police Chief Matt Kuzma recognized Ralph Lennon for 60 years of service to the Lake Harmony Fire Department before Thursday’s board of supervisors meeting.
“No matter what time of day it is, his (Lennon’s) are always the first eyes on the scene.” Kuzma said.
He presented a plaque to Lennon for his service.
Supervisor Noel Torres noted that the board of supervisors would like to recognize Lennon as well for his “distinguished, dedicated service to Lake Harmony and loyalty to Kidder Township.” A proclamation was made that Sept. 25 would be “Ralph Lennon Day.”
Lennon responded, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My job has been easier with the support of the supervisors. Especially in recent years, the stipend program is prolonging volunteerism.”
Lennon participated in the Marion Hose Company, Community Nursing Program, Lake Harmony Volunteer Fire Company, Kidder Township Emergency Services and was a Jim Thorpe Knee-High football coach, among other activities.
He was honored in 2017 as a community hero by MCT Bank.
