Three people were taken into custody on outstanding warrants after state police from the Fern Ridge barracks responded to a report of “loud explosion noises” on Wednesday morning in Jackson Township.
On Thursday explosives experts detonated materials that were found inside the residence.
Police said officials of the state police Hazardous Device & Explosive Section were summoned to the scene and determined the explosive-type materials were located within the residence.
Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday, the experts were joined by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations in conducting a controlled detonation of the explosives in the area of Hazella Road in the township.
Police said the controlled detonation was conducted to ensure the volatile materials were disposed of properly.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and updated information will be released.
