The Jim Thorpe Area School District Board of Directors approved a wide range of personnel items during its regular meeting on Sept. 17, including:

• Resignation of Nora Oswald, high school mathematics teacher, effective Aug. 22.

• Posting and advertising for a high school mathematics teacher.

• Hiring of Nahel Veron as a long-term substitute teacher for LB Morris 5th grade at Bachelor’s Step 1, $53,020, effective Sept. 22 through the end of the school year.

• Correction to hiring salary for Janine Noel from $54,050 (Master’s Step 1) to $53,020 (Bachelor’s Step 1).

• Transfer of Tonia Thompson from business/computer to math teacher at Jim Thorpe Area High School.
