State police at the Fern Ridge barracks charged a 34-year-old man with aggravated assault and other related offenses following an incident Thursday night resulting in a 10-year-old boy being shot.
Police said today the charges were filed in the Brodheadsville office of Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso against Darius Oshan James, who has been committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
Police said they were called to a residence on Orchard View Drive, Chestnuthill Township at 8:09 p.m. Thursday for a report of a physical assault involving a firearm.
Through the investigation, police said it was determined two adults engaged in a physical altercation during which time a firearm discharged, striking the boy who was in the home at the time.
Police did not provide any information on the boy’s injuries.
