State Police at Lehighton report on crashes
State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:
• Kaydence M. White, 18, of Northampton, and Debra A. Hrinko, 68, of Lehighton, had minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 7:48 a.m. Sept. 1 on Eeaversville Road in East Allen Township.
Police said Hrinko was transported by personnel from Northampton Regional Ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, while White refused a medical services transport.
They said the crash occurred as White was driving a 2019 Jeep northbound when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and struck head-on a 2024 Hyundai Kona driven by Hrinko. Both vehicles had disabling damage.
White was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Eric P. Hanus, 52, of Easton, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 3:52 p.m. Aug. 31 on Route 873 in Washington Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2015 Jeep Patriot northbound when it traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment, landing in a cornfield.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Wayne Garcia, 56, of Allentown, was injured after a two-vehicle crash at 6:37 p.m. Aug. 25 at the intersection of Mauch Chunk and Maple streets in North Whitehall Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.
They said the crash occurred as Blayre L. Rollins, 31, of Palmerton, was driving a 2008 BMW northbound on Mauch Chunk Road when he attempted to enter the eastbound land of Maple Street and traveled directly in front of a 2024 Harley-Davidson operated by Garcia. Police said the motorcycle hit the BMW and continued southbound on Mauch Chunk Road, coming to a controlled rest on the right shoulder of the road.
• Jan R. Billy, 78, of Cherryville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and driving on roadways laned for traffic as a result of a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 3:22 p.m. July 23 on the Cherryville Road in Allen Township.
Police said he had minor injuries in the incident but a refused medical services transport from the scene.
Police said he was operating a 2017 Ford F-150 that left the roadway and hit a utility pole. It had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
