State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 58-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 12:29 p.m. Sept. 9 on Princeton Avenue in Palmerton.

He was stopped in a 2002 Hyundai Elantra for a Motor Vehicle Code violation.

• A 23-year-old Kunkletown man is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident police were called to at noon Aug. 28 on Sumac Court, Polk Township.

He told police that his CashApp account was hacked and a charge made to it. He said CashApp returned the money to him, after which he declined to prosecute the case.

• A 37-year-old Saylorsburg woman was cited for retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the Dollar General store, Route 115, Ross Township, at 3:10 p.m. Aug. 15.

Police said she was taken into custody without incident after their arrival at the scene.

• A 37-year-old Jim Thorpe man was cited for simple trespassing after police were called to Coyote Drive, Penn Forest Township, at 6:25 a.m. July 7.

The victim is a 42-year-old man from Lafayette Hill.

• Police were called to a drug overdose incident at 9:31 a.m. Sept, 10 on Britt Drive, East Penn Township.

They said a woman overdosed on heroin/fentanyl and was provided lifesaving measured by emergency services personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association. The woman was transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, where she was reported to be stable condition.

• A 31-year-old woman and a 26-year-old East Stroudsburg man were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an incident at 9:09 p.m. Sept. 11 at the intersection of Doney and Weir Mountain roads in Polk Township.

Police said the two were engaged in a physical confrontation but were separated before police arrived.
