Nesquehoning seeks crossing guards, fire police volunteers

Nesquehoning is looking for a few good men and women who are interested in public safety.

Recently, the borough announced that they are looking for crossing guards to help cover street corners before and after school hours. Guards provide guidance for children to cross certain busy intersections in the borough as they travel to and from school.

One longtime crossing guard, Grace Whildin, resigned during August’s council meeting after decades of service.

In addition, fire police are also needed to help emergency responders with traffic control during responses where roads either must be closed or detours created.
