Tamaqua Car Show scheduled for Sunday

The second annual Tamaqua Car Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday on South Railroad Street in the borough.

The event is sponsored by the Tamaqua Historical Society and Jukebox Cruisers Car Club.

Organizers said last year’s show was a big hit, with approximately 90 vehicles participating.

“The weather sounds spectacular for the day as well. What more could you ask for to make it the perfect car show in September?” said Dale Freudenberger, historical society president.

Three People’s Choice awards will be presented at 3 p.m. The first 50 vehicles to arrive will receive a commemorative dash plaque. There are no registration fees and no preregistration is required. All are welcome to participate with all types of antique or classic vehicles.

A food vendor will be on-site, and Jukebox Cruisers will provide music.

“It will be a fun day for the entire family,” Freudenberger said.

Vehicles may enter South Railroad Street from Spruce Street at the south end or West Broad Street at the north end. Tink’s Antiques will also be open on Sunday near the car show.

Organizers thanked Tamaqua Borough for the use of South Railroad Street and St. Luke’s for the use of its parking lot.
