State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following accidents:

• Zachery S. Campomizzi, 22, of Tamaqua, was uninjured in a motorcycle crash at 4:16 p.m. Sept. 16 on Wildcat Road in Walker Township.

Police said that while he was operating a 2025 Kawasaki northbound he lost control when the motorcycle traveled over gravel on the roadway. The cycle then hit an embankment, police said.

The Kawasaki had disabling damage and was removed from the scene.

Campomizzi was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Kaur Chand, 67, of Mahanoy City, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:28 p.m. Sept. 10 on Barnesville Drive in Ryan Township.

Police said he was operating a 2020 Honda eastbound when a truck in front of him slowed down. They said he applied the brakes of the vehicle, which traveled off the right side of the road and hit a guide rail. It continued back across the road, went off the left side and struck an embankment.

• Jessica Hernandez Diaz, 23, and Fernando Abreau Villega, 28, both of Hazleton, had suspected minor injuries after a three-vehicle crash at 2:27 p.m. Sept. 15 on Route 309 in Rush Township.

Police said Hernandez Diaz was transported by personnel from the McAdoo Fire Company Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, while Abreau Villega was taken to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus, Coaldale, by personnel from the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association.

They said the crash occurred when Hernandez Diaz was driving a 2022 Honda that struck the rear of a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Abreau Villega, after which the Crosstrek hit the rear of a 2003 Honda Accord operated by Michell Perez Rodriguez, 23, also of Hazleton. She was uninjured.

Police said Hernandez Diaz was cited for following too closely while Abreau Villega was cited for driving while was charged with driving while his operating privileges are suspended or revoked.
