State police at Schuylkill Haven - crashes

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following accidents:

• Paul J. Belsak, 74, of New Ringgold, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 5:55 a.m. Sept. 8 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2019 Nissan Frontier when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic, proceeding into the intersection of Route 61 and Tumbling Run Road and colliding with a 2011 Ford Econoline driven by James H. Foose Jr., 43, of Pottsville.

Police said the Econoline was towed from the scene.

• Billy L. Mohr Jr., 62, of Reading, was cited after a crash at 6:44 a.m. Aug. 27 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Mack Truck northbound at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a right turn. The truck went out of control, entered the parking lot of the Tobash Service Center and struck a 2016 Ford F-250. The Mack Truck then continued east and struck a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. Police said the Equinox was pinned against a PPL Utilities’ pole, while the Cherokee was pushed forward and struck a 2002 Ford. They said a live wire from the utility pole fell onto a 2001 Honda, causing minor damage.

Police said the other vehicles had disabling damage.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4:57 a.m. Sept. 3 on Grand Street in Port Carbon.

Police said the incident involved a 2000 Ford Ranger that was driven by a 17-year-old boy from Kaska and a 2020 Jeep Compass operated by Kylie M. Tohill, 24, of Port Carbon.

No other information on the crash was provided by police.

• A 4-year-old boy from Orwigsburg had suspected minor injuries when the vehicle in which he was a passenger crashed at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 21 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Schuylkill EMS to the Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg.

They said the crash occurred when Madison J. Bosack, 27, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2021 Ford Expedition too fast while exiting Route 61 and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a light pole. It had disabling damage.

Bosack was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Shelby R. Miller, 28, of Pine Grove, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 12:16 p.m. Aug. 30 at the intersection of Long Run Road and Route 183 in Wayne Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2018 Jeep Cherokee on Long Run Road when she attempted a left turn without having proper clearance and struck a 1998 Mercedez-Benz operated by Joshua L. Dolbin Jr., 23, of New Ringgold. Police said both vehicles had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

Neither Dolbin nor two passengers with Miller were injured.
