State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:
• No one was injured in a three-vehicle crash at 4:42 p.m. Aug. 29 on Route 895 (Summer Valley Road) in East Brunswick Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Nathan R. Connely, 46, of New Ringgold, was driving a 1998 Jeep southbound when it failed to maintain its lane of travel. It crossed over into the northbound land and struck the trailer of a 2023 Ford Transit operated by Onel L. Dickson Azor, 49, of Leesport, and then a 2016 Subaru Outback driven by Paula M. Mohutsky, 56, of Mountain Top.
Police said the Jeep and the trailer of the Transit were towed from the scene.
Connely was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Dean J. Leone, 58, of Coaldale, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 7:44 p.m. Sept. 4 on Route 54 in Rush Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 1992 Ford Econoline east when it made contact with a log that was on the shoulder of the eastbound lane. They said Leone lost control of the van, which hit an embankment. The vehicle had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• Kristi A. Klinger, 52, of Bloomsburg, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 7:40 a.m. Sept. 8 on Altamont Boulevard, West Mahanoy Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Frackville Community Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville.
They said the crash occurred when she was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer that exited a service station and turned left onto Altamont Boulevard, failing to yield to a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Angel G. Torres Ruiz, 19, of Mahanoy City, striking it. Police said both vehicle had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
Klinger was cited for driving while her license is suspended or revoked.
Ruiz was uninjured in the crash.
• Carolyn M. Tirpak, 83, of Tamaqua, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 3:53 p.m. Sept. 3 on Claremont Avenue (Route 309) in Hometown, Rush Township.
Police said she was driving a 2017 Ford Escape northbound when she made a lane change without proper clearance and the Escape was struck by a 2022 Kenworth. Police said the Escape then hit a guide rail.
They said the Escape had disabling damage and was towed from the scene, while the Kenworth had minor damage but also was towed from the scene.
• Shayla Espinal, 25, of Mahanoy City, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 7:13 a.m. Sept. 3 on the Vulcan Hill (Route 54) in Mahanoy Township. She was uninjured in the crash.
Police said she was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue eastbound and was preparing to turn west onto the Morea Road. They said as she entered the off-ramp, the vehicle left the road and hit a traffic island. The Rogue had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
