The Lehighton Area Heritage Alliance will kick off a year of America250 events by “Celebrating Celebrations” with its annual Songs & Stories in the Mausoleum event.

Join the alliance on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. as storyteller Kathy Long and folk musician David Matsinko take participants on a journey through the town’s numerous community, fire company and military celebrations, parades and centennials.

A highlight of this year’s event will be the showing of a home movie of the 1966 Centennial Parade on First Street. Display of photos and memorabilia, featuring the showing of the recently converted home movie of the 1966 Centennial Parade will be shown.

There is a suggested donation at the door or reserve a seat in advance online. Seating is limited.
