Coaldale residents who owe money on their borough sewer bills have extra time to pay that bill before their water is shut off.
Water shutoff to delinquents had been scheduled for today but the borough announced this morning that it will extend the deadline by about a week.
“If your property is scheduled for shut off, a placard will be attached to your house. Do not ignore it,” the borough posted on its Facebook page.
The new deadline to pay the bills is Sept. 22. If payment in full is not received by that date, water will be shut off on Sept. 23. No payments will be accepted on Sept. 23 to avoid a shut off.
If water is shut off, residents will need to pay the full amount of their sewer bills plus an additional $75, which includes a $50 reconnection fee and a $25 administrative fee.
Water service will be restored on the next business day after full payment is received.
If you have questions on if your account is up-to-date or who did not receive a bill should call the borough at 570-645-6310.
