Monroe County incidents

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 35-year-old Albrightsville man is facing charges of driving under in the influence of alcohol following an incident at 12:22 a.m. Aug. 30 on Interstate 80 eastbound in Stroudsburg.

Police said he was observed in a 2025 Nissan Rogue that was stopped and partially blocking a lane of the interstate. When police approached the vehicle, the man was found sleeping, police said.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.

• Maliek Plant, 29, of Tobyhanna, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:47 a.m. Aug. 23.

He was stopped in a 2019 Hyundai Tucson on Interstate 80 westbound in Hamilton Township.

• Police were called to a cruelty to animals incident at 5:09 p.m. June 17 on Merry Hill Road, Paradise Township, resulting in the arrest of a 57-year-old woman from Cresco.

Police said that over the course of five days, she left several dogs abandoned inside her residence.

• A 61-year-old Albrightsville man was arrested for impersonating a public servant after an incident at 3:24 a.m. Aug. 27 on Interstate 80 eastbound in East Stroudsburg.

Police said he was observed driving a 2019 BMW that was utilizing red and blue flashing signals while traveling on the interstate, pushing traffic out of the way and operating at speeds in excess of 100 mph.

They said a traffic stop was conducted, after which the man was taken into custody.
