Lehighton Borough Council took the following action recently:
• Accepted the letter of intent to retire from Kim Rubin, assistant secretary/treasurer.
• Approved the 2025 memorandum of understanding for the Police Pension Plan in the amount of $148,489, up $5,000 from last year.
• Approved the 2025 memorandum of understanding for the Lehighton Borough Nonuniform Pension Plan in the amount of $345,026, up nearly $50,000 from last year.
• Appointed Reagan Abelovsky as Lehighton Borough Junior Councilperson. Councilwoman Autumn Abelovsky abstained because she is Reagan’s mother.
• Accepted the application for use of property on Oct. 7 for the 20th annual Pink Light Walk.
• Accepted the Snowflake 5K run/walk event held on Dec. 13 to benefit Dylan and Gavin’s Rainbow.
