State police at Fern Ridge
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:
• Serge Tavour, 74, of Ladera Ranch, California, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:43 p.m. Aug. 29.
He was stopped in a 2018 Tesla for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Interstate 80 eastbound in Tunkhannock Township, after which he showed signs of impairment and was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, for processing.
• Police are investigating a report of assault/bodily injury that they received through the Pennsylvania ChildLine network.
They responded to a property on Timberline Trail, Chestnuthill Township, to investigate concerns about abuse involving three Effort children, ages 1, 2 and 3, that was reported to have occurred at 11:52 a.m. May 28.
• Police responded to a second suspected child abuse report at 7:43 p.m. July 11 on Country Acres Court, Chestnuthill Township.
The report involves a 2-year-old girl from Effort.
• Police said a 64-year-old Stroudsburg woman was pronounced dead by a representative of the Monroe County Coroner’s Office after police responded to a death of undetermined cause at 11:34 a.m. July 30.
It occurred on Bartonsville Woods Road, Jackson Township.
• Jennifer Soden, 39, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, was charged with criminal trespass after police responded to an incident at 5:02 p.m. Sept. 7 on Cherry Hill Lane, Chestnuthill Township.
A 41-year-old man from Effort told police that Soden entered his residence, from which she had been evicted by a Protection From Abuse court order.
Soden was lodged in the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
• Police attempted to halt a vehicle for multiple traffic violations at 1:34 p.m. Aug. 23 in Chestnuthill Township but terminated a chase due to public safety reasons.
The 2015 Nissan Altima was in the 300 block of Route 715 when the driver fled the scene.
