The silver anniversary of the founding of the IGA Store in Hometown was celebrated by the Agosti family of Lake Hauto.

Ermano “Herman” Agosti, his wife Diane and their five children are celebrating the success of the store that was opened on Sept. 9, 1970, by partners Agosti and John Kubich. The latter passed away in 1990, after which the Agostis bought out his widow and became the sole proprietors of the business.

In 1976, the original store was remodeled and expanded, doubling in size to 7,500 square feet.

All of the Agosti children — James, Joseph, Steven, Robert and Patricia Confer — are involved in the business that will one day be theirs.
