A Brodheadsville man died of injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle crash Monday at 8:38 a.m. on Route 191 (Easton Highway) in Salem Township, Wayne County.

State police at the Honesdale barracks said Arthur R. Hughes, 60, was pronounced dead at the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Police said he was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound when the car drove into the northbound lane and onto the east shoulder, continuing south onto the east berm where it struck a PPL utility pole, coming to rest facing south/east.

He was transported to the hospital by personnel from the Jefferson Township Ambulance Corps.
