L. Towamensing discusses signs at Stoney Ridge park

Lower Towamensing Township Supervisors last week discussed posting signs at the Stoney Ridge Park on Fireline Road.

Supervisors Michael Takerer and board Chairwoman Connie Brown both mentioned incidents that occurred on the farther side of the park.

Brown said someone was shooting a bow and arrow for practice, which is not permitted on the property.

One suggestion was the possibility of posting a sign that lists the rules and regulations of the park.

Those would include that dogs must be on a leash, clean up after dogs, and placing trash in containers among them.

“Even if we could do it and assess a fine,” Brown said. “Make it a hindrance for them.”

The township has a zoning ordinance; however it does not have a stand-alone noise ordinance.

Noise rules falls under the township’s zoning ordinance.
