Washington Township

The Washington Township Board of Supervisors, at a recent meeting, voted to hire a Lehighton man as the township’s building code officer.

Duane Dellecker was appointed to the position. He will be paid $2,169 per month.

The township also set the speed limit at 35 mph on High Hill Road, from Old Post Road to Walnut Street. Speed limit signs will be erected there.

In other business, the supervisors approved:

• The Lehigh Valley Mitigation Resolution;

• An indemnification agreement for township equipment by the Friedens Fire Company;

• Per capital tax exoneration for Damion Rodriquez of Grove Street, Slatington, due to his active military duties;

• Trick or Treat Night in the township from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 29;

• Set budget meeting for 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, and;

• Plan to advertise for a part-time snow plow driver.
