Palmerton Borough Council

Palmerton Borough Council took the following action last week:

• Approved a recommendation for Costars vendor work for sanitary sewer lining to Mr. Rehab, in the amount of $186,258, for continuation of a multiyear project the borough has in place to extend the life of the lines.

• Approved a five-year lease with Carbon County for municipal services building floors two and three that calls for a 3% increase, and raises the amount to $30,769 per year, per floor.

• Approved the escrow release for the Princeton Pines subdivision project in the amount of $62,778.

• Adopted a resolution stating the borough’s intent to adopt the 457(b) governmental retirement plan.

• Approved the Carbon County P25 digital radio agreement. The report was prepared by Carbon County as part of an upgrade to a digital radio system for emergency services. The county is paying for the radios with grant money.

• Approved an ordinance amending Chapter 118, vehicles and traffic, which states no individual may make a right turn on a steady red signal facing traffic on Third Street south at the intersection of Delaware Avenue, or Third Street north at the intersection of Delaware Avenue.

• Approved a resolution for the PennDOT winter agreement and authorization to sign.
