Pleasant Valley contracts

The Pleasant Valley School Board approved the following curriculum changes and contracts during its meeting on Aug. 28.

Under curriculum, the requests from Assistant Superintendent Rae Linn Howard included:

• Advanced Placement U.S. History Curriculum — approval of the AP Course textbooks and interactive eBooks for use with the 2025-26 school year. The six-year package through MPS costs $5,406.98.

• Discard of PVIS books — discarding of all sorts of books older than 15 years at PVIS found during cleanout of all closets and storage areas. These books will be donated.

The contracts, agreements and other items that were approved include:

• NWEA — Teacher Professional Development and Training at a cost of $12,600.

• Recreation Resources — Purchase and install playground upgrades at Polk Elementary, COSTARS contract, $16,824.

• Ground Lease Renewal Agreement — Requested a five year renewal of the Ground Lease Agreement between Pleasant Valley School District and J. R. M Borger Brother Farms, rent is $500 per year, term from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031.

• McGraw Hill Education — Renew Glencoe Geometry 2018 license subscription for one year, paid from Ready to Learn grant, $6,839.25.

• Johnson Controls — Additional security camera installation in Pleasant Valley High School, $2,442.97.

• Johnson Controls — Upgrade Exacq SSA and software on two security camera servers, $4,747.82.

• Cengage Learning — MindTap Century 21 Accounting for one year, $3,465.

• Administration and Board Travel Accident Renewal — Engle-Hambright and Davies Inc., $3,000, for renewal of the Administration and Board Business Travel Accident Insurance Policy for three years from Aug. 30, 2025 to Aug. 30, 2028.

• Memorandum of Understanding with Capital Area Intermediate Unit 15 to represent the school district to meet Title III requirements at no cost to the school district for the 2025-2026 school year.
