Bruce in the USA more than just another tribute

With over two decades of experience, they’re much more than just another tribute.

Bruce In The USA is scheduled to perform from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at this year’s Palmerton Community Festival.

Matt Ryan, lead singer/guitarist, said this will mark the third time performing at the festival.

“Palmerton is just a little storybook town with really polite beautiful people; it’s exactly what you would think from that part of the country,” Ryan said. “We love it; if I were to retire, I’d want to be around people like that.”

Ryan, from the world famous “Legends in Concert” cast, began playing the Springsteen character in 2000, in Legends “full scale” Las Vegas show.

He said Bruce in the USA consists of seven band members and has been touring for about 22 years.

“After our run on our strip, we started touring it, found we had lot of support from the Bruce camp, and just kept doing it,” he said. “We just found ourselves for two decades touring Bruce in the USA for incredible audiences. It’s all just about raising a glass, singing along. It’s a very joyous celebratory thing to be a part of.”

Ryan said being able to perform the hits made famous by Springsteen, such as “Born to Run” and “Rosalita,” to name a couple, never gets old.

“For me, there’s something very special about this music, very lyric based, about his own journeys, real people in his life, there’s no fiction in his stories,” he said. “There’s something really wonderful about being a part of something that is musically challenging and extremely sincere.”

The Bruce in the USA Band is composed of experienced, world class professional musicians.

The show has hosted musicians from such acts/bands as Queen/Paul Rogers, Meatloaf, Blue Oyster Cult, Hall & Oats, Joe Cocker, The O’Jays, Aretha Franklin, David Cassidy, The Temptations and Slash.
