A Kingston man died Tuesday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township, where he was taken following a two-vehicle crash at 2:24 p.m. that day on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill Township.
State police at the Frackville barracks said Esau Foster, 81, was pronounced dead by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Police said he had to be extricated from his vehicle, and was transported by personnel from the Frackville Community Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville, and then to Lehigh Valley by air medical personnel.
Police said he was the operator of a 2013 GMC Acadia that was northbound when it struck the driver’s side rear of a 1992 Kenworth operated by Keith M. Musselman Jr., 61, of Harrison, Ohio, before rolling over an unknown number of times and coming to rest in the grass center median of the interstate. The vehicle had disabling damages, police said.
They said Musselman was not injured in the incident.
