Body of man missing found in Lansford

The body of a man who had been reported missing since Monday was found Wednesday in Lansford.

The Carbon County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a man in his mid-30s who was found in a wooded area, on private property.

The man was pronounced dead at 3:19 p.m. by Chief Deputy Coroner Jason T. Smith.

The coroner said the man has been identified however, notification to the next-of-kin is pending.

After notification to the next-of-kin is completed and the family has time to mourn the sudden death privately, his name will be released.

In addition to the Carbon County Coroner’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police, Frackville barracks, is investigating this death.

The Carbon County Coroner’s Office said there will be no additional information released at this time.
