2 Schuylkill men charged after drug raid

Two Schuylkill County men are locked up on drug charges that were filed Friday following raids by the Tamaqua Police Department and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Drug Task Force.

Jose Nieves-Feliciano, 45, of the 100 block of First Street in Coaldale, was charged with two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine and fentanyl), along with charges of criminal attempt to dealing in proceed of unlawful activities and possession of a controlled substance.

Cruz Rodriguez, 31, of the unit block of Water Street in New Philadelphia, was charged with two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine and fentanyl), along with a felony county of dealing in proceed of unlawful activities, and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Both men were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker, who set bail at $100,000 straight cash.

The arrests came after police executed two simultaneous search warrants at 6 a.m. Friday. Tamaqua police and the state task force were assisted by Blythe Township and Port Carbon police.

The coordinated raids were part of an ongoing investigation targeting illegal drug activity in the region.

The operation was conducted with support from the Pennsylvania State Police CERT Team and the Carbon County Drug Task Force. The multiagency effort underscores a shared commitment to combating narcotics distribution and enhancing public safety across Schuylkill and Carbon counties.
