Faith Alive Church
Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. A traditional service is held at 11 a.m.

• Sept. 14: 10 a.m. combined outdoor service with communion in the pavilion. After the service, there will be fellowship time with desserts and beverages. Bring chairs and blankets. In the event of rain, the service will be held in the sanctuary.
Adult Bible class: Baron Cebrosky leads the series “Jude: Contending for The Faith Once Delivered” with lesson two on salvation.
September Mission: Faith Alive Benevolence Fund.
Back to church Sunday: Sept. 21 during worship services. Bring a friend. Combined Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. in Leah’s Room. Prayer and praise to celebrate the new season and kicking off 40 days of prayer.
ABC Food Pantry: Donations of canned goods and nonperishable food items can now be dropped off in the church lobby.
Blessed ministry: The Blessing Room is open to the general public. Anyone who needs food or clothing, contact Jan Lazarchak at jklpta@yahoo.com. Gently used clothing donations are also being accepted by appointment.
Choir: The choir will present “A Christmas Concert” in December. Additional singers are welcome to join for this event. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the choir room across from the nursery.
Save the date
• Community Soup Social, 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 in Leah’s Room. Donations go to Allentown Rescue Mission.
• Ladies Luncheon, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 1. Theme is “Hope in Every Season.” It will include a time to incorporate worship with music by Celeste Leininger, Jan Lazarchak, Michele Miller and Sandy Jenkins. Sign-ups are requested to allow for proper food preparation. Lunch will include a taco bar and dessert.
Jerusalem UCC
Jerusalem UCC, 545 Church Dr., Palmerton (Trachsville) holds worship services at 9 a.m. every Sunday in the picnic grove. The Rev. Marian Johnson officiates.

The church will have its Happy Bowl Food Trailer at the Palmerton Festival, Sept. 5-7.
The church’s Apple Fall Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 4.
The second annual car show in the Grove will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 25.
Holiday filling is for sale for Thanksgiving. Deadline to order is Nov. 1, and pickup is Nov. 22.

Persian donuts: The church is holding a Persian donut sale. To order call 610-681-5200, 610-577-6332 or 610-681-5020. Deadline to order is Sept. 7. Pickup is 9 a.m. on Sept 18.
Annual fall basket social: The church holds its annual fall basket social from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 11. There are theme baskets, raffles, a bake sale, door prizes and more.
