A music maestro has been acknowledged for the positive impact he’s made in the Palmerton area.

Borough council on Thursday read a proclamation on behalf of Joseph Plechavy, director of the Palmerton Community Band.

The proclamation states that Plechavy has been director of the Palmerton Community Band for over two decades.

In addition, Plechavy has spent his career teaching music in the Palmerton Area School District, directing the band and advising the stage crew.

The proclamation also notes that borough council recognizes Plechavy’s dedication to showcasing music in the community.

For that, council commended the efforts of Plechavy for his commitment to the community.

Borough council then wished Plechavy well in his upcoming retirement.
