Pleasant Valley and Northwestern both picked up field hockey wins on Friday.

ES South-Pleasant Vy.
Pleasant Valley gained its first win of the season by cruising past East Stroudsburg South, 5-1, in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.
Gabby Kutzler scored two goals for the winners, while Emma DePalma added a goal and two assists.
The Bears out shot their opponent by a 17-1 margin.

After a scoreless first half, Moravian Academy scored three times in the second to pull out a 3-0 Colonial League victory over Lehighton.
The Lions’ Elena Reid broke the deadlock in the second half at the 31:09 mark, and Moravian added a pair of tallies in the final minute to secure the win.
For Lehighton, Cassiday Litts made 21 saves.

Marian chalked up its first Schuylkill League win of the season on Thursday, as the Fillies got the best of rival Nativity for a 25-14, 25-7, 25-17 victory.
Eris Hayes sparked the Fillies’ attack with 14 digs, 10 assists and four kills, while JoeElle Currie chipped in with 12 assists, five aces and four digs.

Millie Black and Madison Schock collected career milestones for Tamaqua, as the Blue Raiders won in straight sets – 25-9, 25-21, 25-18 – in Schuylkill League action.
Black posted her 100th career kill in the league win, while Schock scored her 300th career assist on her home court.
Black ended up with nine kills, eight digs and seven aces. Schock recorded 12 assists, eight digs and four aces.
