The lights are back on in Weissport.
At the Aug. 18 Weissport Borough Council meeting, council members reported at least seven streetlights were not working in the borough, despite several attempts to get PPL to make the necessary repairs.
Council voted to withhold payment to PPL.
According to Damon Turbitt, media relations specialist for PPL Electric, the lights have been repaired.
“Members of PPL Electric Utilities met with the Borough and crews have returned the streetlights to service. In addition to getting the lights back on, our team patrolled the Borough to ensure that all other streetlights are operating properly,” Turbitt reported in a statement to the Times News.
A call to the borough secretary also confirmed that this has been resolved.
