August 29, 1958 — Bill Semko pitches a four-hitter to help lead Tamaqua to a 13-3 Panther Valley Little League tournament victory over Summit Hill. Semko hurls all six innings and finishes with 10 strikeouts and four walks. After allowing two first-inning runs, his team tallies 13 unanswered runs. Paul Lenick drills a three-run homer in the home first to give Tamaqua a lead it wouldn’t lose. Semko helps his own cause in the second with a run-scoring double, while Brockel and Fritzinger also double during a six-run third frame. Bernie Heller ends with two hits and a pair of runs for the winners, while Kokinda hits a homer for the Hillers.
