Indoor sale benefit

An indoor sale to benefit the American Cancer Society will be held at the East End Fire Company, 555 E. Broad St., from today to Sunday.

Hours are from 6-10 p.m. today; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to close on Saturday and beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Sunday is bag day, and customers can fill a bag for $1.

St. Peter’s West Penn

The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will be held at 9 a.m. followed by Adult Sunday school at 10:15 a.m.

Tuesday is the first day of preschool for the 3-year-old class, and Wednesday is the first day for the 4-year-old class. On Sept. 4, the Cherub Choir rehearses at 6 p.m. and the Senior Choir rehearses at 7 p.m.

The Sept. 7 service will have the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. The adult Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. Children’s Sunday school will resume on Sept. 7.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens met on Aug. 26 with 32 members present.

President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation, “My Prayer.”

Larry Bower was added to the sick list. The group chanced off lantern and lottery tickets, which were won by Pat Langton. Refreshments were served.

The meeting was closed by Kim Usalis and Betty Brobst. A correction was made for Beverly Barron, who celebrated a birthday in August. Her name was previously reported as “Beth.”

Bingo was played. The next meeting will be held Sept. 9. The group wishes all a happy Labor Day and asks them to stay safe.
