Two Lansford people are changed with having sexual interactions with an animal.

Cody Broad, 30, and Erica Show, 34, both of the 600 block of East Ridge Street, were arraigned by District Judge Beth Dodson on Tuesday morning. Broad was also charged with sexual abuse of children, disseminating photos of child sex acts and criminal use of a communication facility.

Broad was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of $50,000. Show is free on $20,000 unsecured bail.

According to court papers, state police received a CyberTip report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a Snapchat user uploading files that consisted of images and videos depicting apparent child abuse material in November 2023.

The video showed an adult placing a dog in front of a naked girl’s genitals, court papers said.

Investigators traced the upload to Cody Broad, via a subpoena served on the Internet service provider in March. Investigators gathered additional information on Broad, including another address and phone number and place of employment.

Lansford police also related that they had contact with Broad in 2022 for a protection from abuse order at the same Ridge Street address, and that as of November 2024, he was still at that address, court papers said.

A search warrant was served at the Ridge Street property, where police discovered images and videos depicting apparent child abuse material on a device belonging to Broad, court papers said.

Several videos were found on Broad’s phone showing him engaged in a sexual acts with two different dogs, court papers said.

Another video showed a naked woman and dog engaged in a sexual act, and Show admitted that was her in the video, court papers said.

Investigators found cellphones belonging to Broad and Show with dozens of files of child sexual abuse material and child exploitative material. One device had 87 files of children sexual abuse material, and 73 files of sexual abuse of animals, court papers said.

Among the images are a clothed 5- to 8-year-old girl in a sex act with a man, and another of a 2- to 3-year-old naked boy in a sex act with a man.
