After a five-year hiatus due to COVID, the West Penn Lions Club resumed its in-person Senior Fun Day at the West Penn Park on a recent Saturday.
Thirty senior citizens from the area were treated to free wellness screenings by the Mahoning Ambulance Association, a lunch featuring spaghetti and meatballs, salad, rolls, beverages and cake. They played bingo to win prizes donated by area restaurants and businesses.
There was also a cake walk featuring cakes and other goodies donated by Lions Club members. DJ Lion Matt Uroskie played music for everyone.
“We want to thank all our guests for joining us today,” said Tina Dougherty, president of the West Penn Lions Club. “We also want to thank the Mahoning Ambulance Association for their help with the screenings.”
The West Penn Lions Club meets the first and third Wednesday each month at the West Penn Community Park in summer months and at the West Penn Township Annex during the winter.
The club is always accepting new members and community volunteers. Contact President Tina Dougherty at 570-516-4573 for more information.
