Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on Aug. 12 with 33 members present.

President Robert Neifert opened the meeting. The invocation, “So Many Things,” was read. The secretary and treasurer’s report were read and accepted.

Beth Barron and Kim Craiz celebrate birthdays in August.

A holiday basket donated by Linda Mundy was chanced off and won by Jayne McLaughlin.

Food was donated by Cindy Godanis. Refreshments were served. The meeting was closed by Linda Humes and Debbie Kerestus.

Bingo was played and a joke was told by Betty Brobst.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at Christ Church in Barnesville.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Aug. 14 with 26 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting. The invocation, “God Made This Day,” was recited.

No secretary’s report was given. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted by two members.

The group chanced off a holiday goodie basket, which was won by one member.

Refreshments were served and the meeting closed. Bingo and cards were played.

The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex.

Lewistown Garden Club

The Lewistown Valley Garden Club will hold its August meeting at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Zion Church social hall in Lewistown Valley.

The program will be “home canning” presented by Cindy Sabol. The arrangements to be judged will be a “Back to School” theme using the color red and apples with an accessory outside the arrangement. The specimen can be any blooming flower.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have a 9 a.m. Sunday worship service followed by adult Sunday school at 10:15 a.m.

Zion Church — Lewistown Valley

Zion Men will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hall.

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. The Adult Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Calvary Lewistown

The worship service at Calvary Evangelical of the Lewistown Valley is at 11 a.m. Sunday, with Jeff Shelburne of Indiana sharing music and praise, and George Holly of Ohio presenting God’s word. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. An evening evangelistic service will be held at 6 p.m. with the same team of singing, trumpet playing and word of the Bible. All services are from the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle.

There will be Friday and Saturday evening services at 7 p.m. with Shelburne and Holley.

The upcoming week of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Aug. 28 features the same group of encouraging camp services at 7 p.m.

Aug. 30 features the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Schuylkill County’s Good Club rallying around praise.

All are invited.
