Letter to the editor: Triumph or Tragedy
A journey researching tariffs brought me to an unescapable conclusion. Unless America changes course our country is doomed.
With Trump’s election victory America’s path forward seemed bright. Finally we could undo and repair the intentional disasters the democrats left in their wake. Trump’s triumphant victory gave America hope that Trump would end democrats policies infused with illegal immigration, perverted judges, a crumbling economy, uncontrolled inflation, immoral social policies, unfettered corruption and endless wars.
Tariff truths turned triumph into tragedy. Mega corporations and small to medium businesses are on the brink of failure due in large part to tariffs.
States like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, New York, Texas and others are suffering mass job losses because entire plants are relocating to Canada and Mexico, never to return to America.
Disregard the deceived rhetoric about new corporations in America instead focus on the hardships of farmers, coal miners, RV, car and plane manufacturers, retailers, tour firms, and 80,000 small businesses struggling to survive.
Huge corporations like Ford, Boeing, Intel, Rite Aid, Macy’s, and others once considered giants in their field now hang by a thread.
Triumph turns to tragedy when jobs evaporate and corporations relocate to other countries. As corporate greed and corrupted politicians rake in billions the middle class worker is left stranded and jobless.
Middle Tariffs have weakened America on the world stage as country after country now abandons America’s bullying tariff tactics. Countries like Japan, India, and Brazil once considered reliable trading partners are abandoning America because America has lost its way.
How much longer can America spend a trillion dollars every year to support war? Money urgently needed to support infrastructure, improve the economy, and stabilize social security instead enriches the military industrial complex.
If America joins the multipolar world and abandons the fanatical unipolar obsession of ruling the world through endless wars, America can be saved. America must abandon destructive tariffs and rule by decree.
Spend trillions on people and not war machines. Only then can Trump take America from tragedy to triumph ... as the world moves on, time is not on our side.
