Lehighton Borough Council recently voted to hire Robert Howard as a new police officer. Howard is originally from the Wilkes-Barre area but now lives in Carbon County. He previously worked in law enforcement at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Scranton, following 11 years in the Army. He also served four years with the Marine Corps.
