A Slate Belt Regional Police officer had minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 2:17 a.m. Sunday on West Pennsylvania Avenue in Plainfield Township.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks investigated the crash and said they were summoned to the 1000 block of West Pennsylvania Avenue for the incident involving an on-duty officer.

They said the officer, who was not identified by police, was traveling northbound in a marked 2023 Dodge Durango police vehicle when a 2008 Honda Accord operated southbound by a 29-year-old woman from Wind Gap crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck the police vehicle.

Police said the driver of the Accord was transported to an area hospital by personnel from the Suburban Ambulance.
