Lehighton student Landon Abelovsky attended the Lehighton Borough Council meeting Tuesday and addressed council.
“The Baer Memorial Park Pavilion that I am doing as my Eagle Scout project is finally done,” Abelovsky said.
The pavilion measures 16 by 20 feet on a concrete foundation.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday inside the park for the new pavilion.
The park is named after Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Baer, who donated the 17 acres of land to the borough in 1948. The park has been a favored gathering spot for people all year round.
Landon is the son of Lehighton Police Chief Troy Abelovsky and Borough Council Member Autumn Abelovsky.
