State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following accidents that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• Police said a vehicle struck a Ver Mac sign board that was sitting on the right shoulder of turnpike at mile marker 66.1 in Washington Township.
The board is owned by New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., of New Enterprise.
Police said the driver and vehicle are both unknown.
• Police said a 2023 Freightliner traveling through the Lehigh Tunnel was struck by a vehicle that was traveling alongside it.
The mishap occurred at 4:53 a.m. July 2 at mile marker 70.9 in Washington Township. The rig was operated by Fernando A. Lopez-Fernandez, 24, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
The driver of the striking vehicle is unknown.
