Monroe County crashes

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following crashes:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:31 p.m. on Aug. 10 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the incident happened when Charles J. Campbell Jr., 44, of Long Pond, was driving a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that struck a 2011 BMW driven by Rajahn M. Terry, 22, of Blakeslee. Terry had come to a stop in the eastbound lane of traffic to make an illegal left turn.

Police said the Jeep came to rest at the point of impact, facing east, while the BMW was moved to the right shoulder of the road.

• Hannah E. Mandell, 19, of New Hope, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 5:42 p.m. on Aug. 8 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township. She was uninjured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2008 Toyota Rav4 northbound when it traveled onto the right shoulder and struck a bridge abutment before veering left and right, turning sideways and striking a guide rail.

• Juliet D. Thuesday-Henry, 59, of Blakeslee, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:39 p.m. on Aug. 8 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Pocono Campus, Stroudsburg.

The crash happened when she was driving a 2013 Toyota RAV4 southbound too fast for conditions in an area demarcated by orange traffic cones, police said. She began to overtake a 2012 Workhorse driven by Jay M. Moyer, 45, of Stroudsburg, and made an unsafe lane change, striking the latter vehicle.

Police said the impact caused the RAV4 to spin clockwise and strike a guide rail before it spun a number of times and came to rest on the left shoulder of the road.

The Workhorse came to a controlled stop on the left shoulder of the road and had minor contact damages. Police said the RAV4 had to be towed from the scene.
